La Marque city leaders approve interim manager’s plan to prevent cash-flow crisis


City leaders in La Marque, Texas have approved a financial plan to prevent a cash-flow crisis within the next two weeks. The plan includes increasing property taxes, implementing a city-wide hiring freeze, and reducing overall city spending. The available funds had dwindled to $1.2 million, and the plan was devised by the newly appointed interim manager, Barbara Holly, and the city’s finance director.
