Kate Middleton Seemingly Ditches Her Blonde Hair After Being Roasted Online

Kate Middleton appears to have already moved on from her blonde transformation, a few days after officially debuting the new look during an outing with Prince William.

The Princess of Wales, who came under heavy scrutiny due to the blonde highlights, returned to her signature brunette look at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in East Sussex.

Amid the harsh remarks made by many on social media, Kate Middleton found some support from Princess Diana‘s former hairdresser, who labeled her critics “evil.”

During her most recent engagement at the Women’s Rugby World Cup clash between England and Australia on Saturday, September 6, at the American Express Stadium in East Sussex, Kate returned to her signature brunette style.

Sporting a casual low ponytail, the 43-year-old royal’s hair was noticeably back to its trademark brown after making headlines earlier in the week with a lighter, blonde-toned style.

While the reason for her swift return to brunette is unclear, the future queen had come under intense scrutiny from people online, who claimed that the blonde color “washed her out” and didn’t work for her skin tone.

Others claimed that Kate had donned a “wig,” while some said it was the royal’s way of adjusting to a “grey” hair color.

Following her outing at a rugby game, fans were quick to praise her for switching back to her former hair color, with some joking that she “swiftly” dyed it after her previous outing.

Kate’s return to brunette came shortly after celebrated hairdresser Sam McKnight, who styled Princess Diana for years, spoke out on Instagram, defending her blonde hair transformation.

On Instagram, McKnight said he was “horrified, dismayed, and disgusted by all the nasty comments” he had seen online about Kate, emphasizing that a “woman’s hair is very personal to her, it’s armor, defense, confidence, and so much more.”

The hairdresser then highlighted her recent cancer battle, writing, “Cancer affects individuals differently, but is life-changing for everyone. So FFS LEAVE HER ALONE. SHAME ON YOU.”

Meanwhile, at the recent rugby game, Kate rooted for England, while Prince William was in Exeter at the Sandy Park stadium to watch Wales face Fiji.

The princess has been a patron of England’s Rugby Football Union since 2022, her first appointment from Prince Harry’s former roles after he and Meghan Markle stepped back from working royal life.

William, on the other hand, has represented the Welsh Rugby Union since 2016.

William and Kate’s separate appearances at recent rugby matches highlight their ongoing connection to rugby, a sport that also stirs friendly competition at home.

Their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, are equally engaged in the sport.

According to People Magazine, William once admitted the family rivalry over rugby had become “quite the thing in the house,” though he prefers to stay neutral.

The royal couple’s shared passion was also seen in March when they attended the Wales vs. England Six Nations clash, their first joint rugby outing in years.

Ahead of the game, they met with injured players supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, where William serves as patron, and spent time with athletes and their families at the Sir Tasker Watkins Suite.

Earlier this week, Kate and William marked their return to royal duties with a visit to London’s Natural History Museum following their summer break.

Kate, who studied art history and has served as the museum’s patron since 2013, showcased her noticeably lighter hair along with a refreshed look.

William, too, appeared with a post-holiday glow after their family getaway, which reportedly included sailing around the Greek islands aboard their superyacht.
